My DigiCam Evolution
I love taking pictures with camera, but it was expensive at the age of camera with films. Ever since I was introduced to digital camera, I didn't stop taking pictures. Over time my cameras has undergone evolution. Here is the list of digital camera that I've used:
Canon PowerShot S110 (2004): This was my first digital camera gifted by my brother-in-law. This was an excellent piece of camera with 2MP resolution. I've been shooting like crazy after I got this camera. Apparently this camera was stolen from my house. I hope it is living in peace :-(
Canon PowerShot SD200 (2004-2006): One of the best ultra-portable camera I have ever had. Again this was a gift from my brother-in-law. It was a 3.2MP camera and had superior image quality, advanced macro function and basic video feature. I've taken over 7K pictures with this camera. Unfortunately, I broke the LCD of this camera(on Sat 15, Jul 2006) while I was in a tour of peele island.
Casio Exilim EX-Z60 (2007-2008): I bought this camera on 2006 boxing day event. It was cheap and so was it's quality. I've never been so disappointed for image quality of a camera. No matter how well the light and ambient are, you will always find grain and haze in the picture. But it has better video and audio capture. I had to live with it over a year until I got my next ultimate camera.
Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi (2008-Present): I always had a dream to buy a Digital SLR camera since I started taking pictures. I made my dream come true as soon as I got my tax-return after I graduated from university. I did extensive research before buying a SLR camera. One of my elder brother (named Monjoor) bought this camera from the California, US. There is no doubt that this is one of the best entry-level SLR out there in the market. The next camera of this series is already out in the market, know as DIGITAL REBEL XSi, but my camera came as package. It has telephoto lens, carry bag, filter, extra battery pack. Since I got this I bought professional memory card, professional tripod, remote control. Overall I am very happy with my current camera. CANON rocks!!!
Sony α (Alpha) A300 (2009-Present): I was never fan of SONY products because of their propitiary stuffs. Most of them are to some extent annoying. Anyway, I bought this camera for my brother and gifted him. He used to shoot with minolta film camera which is acquired by Sony and they re-branded Minolta to α (alpha). So, all of his existing Minolta lenses were compatible with Sony's new DSLR camera.
Even if the main reason of buying Sony was compatibility with existing lenses, I was amazed to see its quality. It produced nice colors and it's build in flash was way smarter that mine (Canon XTi). So far, A300 is serving pretty well in all lighting condition with it's built-in flash. Way to go SONY :-)
Canon EOS 40D (2010-Present): After two years of random shooting, I though it's time for upgrade. But my limited budget did not allow me to go for "full frame" SLR camera. So, I decided to go for decent used camera which will give me optimum output. The result is Canon's 40D, which is almost exactly same as its brother 50D. So, with little sacrifice for the latest featues, I got this prosumer camera.
I bought this off craigslist and co-incidentally, the date I bought this, is the same day I bought my previous dSLR camera (seriously, I'm not kidding). In terms of specifications, 40D is almost same as XTi, but it has better body build, super fast burst mode and lots of manual thingies. I guess it's time to get dirty and be serious, what do you think? ;-)
